What are the specific Character issues that need a character waiver?
To meet the character requirements for residence, you should not have been held under offense for the following:
Convicted against any offense against immigration, citizenship, or passport laws in any country.
Convicted of any sexual offense
Convicted of any sentence where you were sentenced to a term of imprisonment
Been a member of any racist group or publicly said something racist
Been convicted in the last five years for dangerous driving, drunk driving, or driving after consuming drugs.

Why is my residence application delayed?
Your application of residence might be under scrutiny or getting delayed for the following reasons:
You are under an active arrest warrant in your country
Your residence application is linked to a person whose residence status is under investigation itself.
You are under investigation, wanted for questioning, or have been charged with an offense where you will be granted a character waiver.
Is English Language Compulsory for Getting a New Zealand Visa?
If you fail to provide adequate confirmation of the required minimum standard of English, you might not be able to apply for residence. To get the New Zealand immigration visa, you must fulfill the different minimum English language requirements for the principal applicant and partners and children included in the EOI.
